The Gallitzin Fire Company joined forces with the Oakland Volunteer Fire Company in Johnstown in collecting donations for those in North Carolina affected by the devastation from Hurricane Helene. 71 Members Participate in 10th Annual Chernisky Classic

This morning, members of Gallitzin Fire Company participated in the Chernisky Classic. This event has been held annually in support of the Cambria County Regional Firefighter Association Training Facility. Members of Station 71 participated in the 5k walk. CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

Last week 19 members of Station 71 certified or recertified in CPR / AED / Basic First Aid. For those that may not know CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation which is a lifesaving technique used in emergencies when someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped.

Community Foundation of the Alleghenies Grant Received

Gallitzin Fire Co. No 1. recently placed into service 6 new fire fighter helmets. We received 6 MSA Cairns 1044 helmets with the Defender Visor option. These helmets are NFPA and OSHA compliant.
